Dan McLaughlin has been coaching high school and club volleyball for over 20 years. He was the varsity coach at Whittell High School from 1995 to 2007 and led them to 6 Nevada State Championships and a national ranking from prepvolleyball.com. He became the varsity coach at South Tahoe in 2010 and led them to the 2012 Nevada State Championship, their first in over 25 years.
He was one of the original coaches at Silver State Volleyball Club and served as Club Director and Head Coach from 2004 %u2013 2007. During his tenure he has coached at every level including being the technical director.
He and his wife Susan have been married for nearly 30 years and have 2 children, Shawn and Shaylene, both of whom played volleyball at Lindenwood University and used to coach at Silver State.
Shawn is currently the #1 Assistant Coach at the University of Incarnate Word, a Division I school in San Antonio Texas. He has also coached at UC Davis, UNR, Denver University and was the Head Coach at Silver State in 2011.
Shaylene is currently a 3rd grade teacher in Fayetteville North Carolina. She not only coached several teams at Silver State, she also coached at Parkway Lightning and was the Director of Youth Development for H2 Volleyball Club in St. Louis.
